The town hall. Your favorite church. The elementary school. The Public Library. An historic home or other building. Every community has buildings that are special in some way and which capture the hearts of the people who live there and of those who visit.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way you could take these buildings home? Now there is, with custom miniature buildings from Brandywine.
Brandywine has been making custom miniature buildings since its beginning in 1981. One of our very first orders was from Colonial Williamsburg, and today we're their official miniature house builder.
Over the years, we’ve created hundreds of special designs. A number of them are well-known, including the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn.; the Lynchburg, Tenn., Hardware & General Store; the Abingdon, Va., Barter Theater; and the Maryland Statehouse.
We’ve crafted countless museums, monuments, university campus buildings, bed and breakfasts; even entire streets and communities. And we’ve done them in virtually every architectural style, from Colonial to Victorian to Federal to Modern.
Every Brandywine custom miniature building starts with an original design and painting by Marlene Whiting, Brandywine’s founder and an acclaimed Americana artist.
Highly-detailed prints of Marlene’s original paintings are affixed to flat wood. Before cutting and finishing, each print is covered with a clear protectant. Unlike other manufacturers, Brandywine avoids silkscreening, as it doesn’t afford the vibrant colors, detail and durability that are our hallmarks.
Brandywine’s custom buildings are often sold only in the shops that commissioned them. So be on the lookout for them whenever you're visiting a town that holds special appeal to you.
